The dining table is the perfect place for everyone to gather to enjoy time together. You couldn’t get a better view of the beautiful sands of Porthmeor beach.

Wonderful location with fabulous view. Great just sitting in the window watching people walk their dogs and see the tide come in. Depending on the weather, I recommend cleaning the balcony glass and doors – you might need to do this a couple of times but worth it for the view!!
W is for Winter…
It offers well-equipped and comfortable accommodation and being situated, quite literally, on the beach, it is ideal for families and those surfers amongst you. Over time I found that the idea resonated more with people the more I removed barriers to entry. Most of the time, it’s OK to dress your baby in their usual sleep suit. Yet it’s a good idea to err on the side of a cooler, not warmer, bedroom for your baby. “Your baby will be as glad to cool down in a toasty, warm house or café as they were to stay warm in the frosty weather.” As it was a limited edition it’s my understanding that reviews of it in the hifi press were limited.
- And so, seven years on, what does the idea of a microadventure mean to me?
- Sit back and put your feet up listening to the waves roll onto the beach.
- Back in 2010 I wrote that microadventures should be “fulfilling, challenging and worthwhile”.
- Yet it’s a good idea to err on the side of a cooler, not warmer, bedroom for your baby.
- If you are like me then I highly recommend the Last Castle at Viklari, the views and venue are incredible.
- It was nice and clean on arrival.

It feels worth spending a few moments recalibrating my ideas about microadventures. It is time then for another summer of microadventures – Microadventures v.2017! It’s over seven years since I first tentatively began dabbling with my new idea of “microadventures” on this blog. And while we are in the mood for high drama, today’s John H Collins movie was a doozy. From the visitors’ book it’s clear the same people come back again and again and no wonder! Focsle Down Under is a fantastic property, comfy, spacious and bright, the owners have thought of everything and more. Simply superb cottage with breathtaking location, clean, well equipped and central to everything.
